Very important is a home loss of second ranked Thunder (37-20) against fourth ranked Pelicans (26-33) on Thursday night. Host Thunder was defeated by Pelicans in a tough game in Oklahoma City 122-131. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Thunder. Pelicans made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists. Pelicans brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by forward Julius Randle (206-94, college: Kentucky) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Jrue Holiday (193-90, college: UCLA) supported him with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Pelicans players scored in double figures. Pelicans' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a triple-double of 44 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 11 assists by point guard Russell Westbrook (190-88, college: UCLA) did not help to save the game for Thunder. Swingman Paul George (206-90, college: Fresno St.) added 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Pelicans maintains fourth position with 26-33 record. Thunder at the other side keeps the second place with 20 games lost.
