Very predictable result when third ranked Leopards (31-9) won against 15th ranked Eagles (11-29) in Qingdao 126-116 on Friday. Leopards made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Eagles were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Dwight Buycks (191-89, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Forward Yiwen Lu (199-95) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import power forward Dakari Johnson (213-95, college: Kentucky) added 20 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Eagles. Four Leopards and five Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leopards maintains third place with 31-9 record having four points less than leader Liaoning FL. Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 29 games lost. Leopards will face league's leader Flying Leopards in Yingkou in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Eagles will play on the road against Long-Lions (#9) in Guangzhou and hope to win that game.
