Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Quintanar (11-9) edged at home 8th ranked Lanzarote (9-11) 69-67 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Serigne Ndiaye (204-98) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Khion Sankey (196-92, college: Lipscomb) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Javier Herreros (198-94) who recorded 15 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Aziz Leeks (203-95, college: Idaho Coll.) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Quintanar moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Guadalajara. Loser Lanzarote dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Quintanar will face league's second-placed Real Madrid II on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lanzarote will play against Estudiantes B (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
