An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tours. First ranked Vendee Challans faced 4th ranked Union Tours. Guests from Challans (18-5) defeated host Union Tours (13-10) 90-86. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Union Tours. Vendee Challans made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Oumarou Sylla (185-92) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) who added 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Diante Watkins (174-90, college: Robert Morris) with 34 points (!!!), 6 assists and 4 steals and Jamaican Tyran De-Lattibeaudiere (201-91, college: Lamar) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Vendee Challans maintains first position in Group B with 18-5 record. Newly promoted Union Tours keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Angers and La Charite. Vendee Challans will meet at home Rueil (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Union Tours will play against Toulouse and hope to secure a win.
