Regular Season Round 21: Dorsten - Hagen-Haspe 82-61

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Dorsten (14-6) outscored at home 9th ranked Hagen-Haspe (9-11) 82-61 on Saturday. They outrebounded Hagen-Haspe 51-33 including 36 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Mike Nwabuzor (188, college: N.Mexico Highlands) who had a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 assists (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!). Bulgarian swingman Lyuben Paskov (196-90) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Nwabuzor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the other side the best for losing team was Louka Bampoulis who recorded 20 points and 4 steals and Jonah Bredt (198-98) added 15 points respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Dorsten. They moved-up to third place in West, which they share with Hagen BG and Herford. Loser Hagen-Haspe dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Dorsten will face league's leader Duesseldorf on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hagen-Haspe will play against Herford (#5) and hope to win that game.
