Regular Season Round 18: Maccabi T-A - Bnei Hertzeliya 88-70

Very expected game when 12th ranked Bnei Hasharon (4-14) lost to second ranked Maccabi T-A (13-4) in Tel-Aviv 70-88 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Bnei Hasharon was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Bnei Hasharon was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American-Tunisian Michael Roll (198-87, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory with 15 points. The former international power forward Jake Cohen (208-90, college: Davidson) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American point guard James Robinson (190-94, college: Pittsburgh) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists and his fellow American import forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) added 12 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) in the effort for Bnei Hasharon. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 13-4 record behind leader Holon. Bnei Hasharon lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Maccabi T-A will face Ironi Nahariya (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bnei Hasharon will play against the league's leader Hapoel Holon and hope to win that game.
