Regular Season Round 31: SumDU - Zolotoi Vek 88-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Zolotoi Vek's (8-18) road loss to sixth ranked SumDU (10-19) 82-88. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 20-13 Zolotoi Vek's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 88-82 at the end of the game. SumDU players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Igor Starodub (187-97) who led the winners and scored 26 points. Vitaliy Ignatchenko (188-91) accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four SumDU players scored in double figures. Swingman Oleksandr Petrov (191-89) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and guard Mikita Miz (191-90) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Zolotoi Vek in the defeat. Zolotoi Vek's coach Georgi Stupenchuk rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SumDU maintains sixth place with 10-19 record. Zolotoi Vek at the other side keeps the seventh position with 18 games lost. SumDU's next round opponent will be higher ranked Mariupol (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zolotoi Vek will play against Kharkivski Sokoly and hope to win that game.
