There was no surprise when 9th ranked Varese Robur (11-10) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Vigevano (13-9) 83-69 on Sunday. Vigevano outrebounded Varese Robur 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. Patrizio Verri (196-88) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Lorenzo Panzini (185-90, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 14 points and 7 assists during the contest. Four Vigevano players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Federico Passerini (186-93) responded with 16 points and swingman Jacopo Mercante (197-90) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Vigevano moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Juvi Cremona and San Vendemiano. Loser Varese Robur dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Vigevano will face Alba (#6) on the road in the next round. Varese Robur will play against the league's second-placed Omegna and hope to win that game.
