We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Iserlohn (12-10) beat at home one of their biggest challengers Oldenburg (12-10) 101-97 on Saturday. Iserlohn made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Iserlohn outrebounded Oldenburg 40-24 including a 30-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Oldenburg was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Bosnian-Croatian power forward Jozo Brkic (211-86, agency: PEPI SPORT) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international Philip Zwiener (201-85) replied with 21 points and power forward Marcel Kessen (207-97) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Oldenburg. Four Iserlohn and five Oldenburg players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Iserlohn moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with defeated Oldenburg.
