Important game to mention about took place in Karditsa. Tenth ranked Karditsas (9-10) saved a 2-point victory at home edging 4th placed Diagoras D. (11-8) 79-77 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Diagoras D.. They outrebounded Diagoras D. 41-27 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for guard Nikos Kaklamanos (189-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 6 assists. Guard Spyros Magounis (200-85) helped adding 13 points and 11 rebounds. Karditsas' coach Giannis Tzimas used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side center Kostas Macheras (205-84) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and forward Petros Noeas (204-87) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Diagoras D. players scored in double figures. Karditsas moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted Diagoras D. dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Karditsas will play against higher ranked Amyntas Dafnis (#6) in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Diagoras D.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Marousi.
