Regular Season Round 22: HAKRO Merlins II - Fellbach 63-88

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Fellbach (7-13) crushed 10th ranked HAKRO Merlins II (7-13) in Crailsheim 88-63 on Saturday. Fellbach forced 21 HAKRO Merlins II turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a very good performance for American center Scooter Gillette (206-90, college: Fair Dickinson) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward David Rotim (197-85) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Fellbach players scored in double figures. Greek forward Antonis Sivorotka (204-85) replied with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and British guard Liam Carpenter (187-96) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for HAKRO Merlins II. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fellbach moved-up to tenth place in South-West, which they share with HAKRO Merlins II and Kronberg. Fellbach will face Kronberg (#12) at home in the next round.
