Regular Season Round 19: Kastoria - Koroivos 58-53

Very expected game when 13th ranked Koroivos (7-12) lost on the road to eighth ranked Kastoria (10-9) 58-53 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was an exceptional evening for forward Savas Chrysopoulos (200-89) who led the winners and scored 10 points and 4 assists. Center Petros Melissaratos (205-93) accounted for 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Kastoria's coach Nikos Karagiannis used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Naturalized German forward Dimitris Cheilaris (206-90) came up with 17 points and Latvian point guard Toms Leimanis (190-94) added 8 points and 6 assists respectively for Koroivos in the defeat. Kastoria moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Charilaos TM. Koroivos lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Apollon Patras. Kastoria will meet league's second-placed Iraklis in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koroivos will play against Evropi (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
