Regular Season Round 21: Bakken - Svendborg 97-78

An interesting game for Bakken (20-1) which hosted in Risskov 3rd placed Svendborg (13-9). First ranked Bakken had an easy win 97-78. The game without a history. Bakken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 Svendborg turnovers. Bakken players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Jamaican-British forward Ryan Martin (206-91, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Bakken's coach Steffen Wich allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 21 points and 5 assists and American forward Zach Charles (201-95, college: E.Kentucky) added 19 points respectively. Four Svendborg players scored in double figures. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Bakken. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-1 record. Svendborg at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Bakken's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Horsens IC on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Svendborg will play against Naestved and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
