Regular Season Round 23: Aridane - Zentro Basket 112-94

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Los Llanos where 12th ranked Zentro Basket (8-15) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Aridane (8-14) 112-94 on Saturday. Aridane shot 60.6 percent from the field and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Aridane had a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Corey Raley-Ross (191-91, college: Buffalo) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (207-92, college: Arkansas St.) helped adding 23 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Guillermo Bastante (201-98) responded with 25 points and Montenegrin point guard Pavle Titic (191-0) scored 15 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Aridane and five Zentro Basket players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aridane moved-up to twelfth place in Group B. Zentro Basket lost their seventh game in a row. Zentro Basket at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. Aridane will face higher ranked Pozuelo (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zentro Basket will play against Quintanar and hope to win that game.
