Date: March 2, 2019
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Mgzavrebi (#3) and TSU-Hyundai (#5). Mgzavrebi (7-4) crushed visiting TSU-Hyundai (6-5) by 35 points 96-61. The game without a history. Mgzavrebi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by TSU-Hyundai's players. It was a great evening for American point guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. International guard Revazi Chachanidze (183-90) helped adding 22 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Mgzavrebi players scored in double figures. International power forward Giorgi Korsantia (207-98) responded with 9 points and 16 rebounds and Serbian center Ratko Petric (213-86) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mgzavrebi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader Kutaisi, which they share with Delta. TSU-Hyundai lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Olimpi. Mgzavrebi's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Dinamo Tbilisi.
