Regular Season Round 40: Runa Basket - Ryazan 90-93

Important game to mention about took place in Moscow. Fifth ranked Ryazan (20-13) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Runa Basket (24-11) 93-90 on Thursday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Yuriy Trubin (206-94) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Maksim Sakharov (194-93) who added 22 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Andrey Semenov (200-90, college: JMU) responded with 25 points and 8 rebounds and the former international power forward Artem Pisarchuk (205-92) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Runa Basket's coach Jovan Popovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ryazan moved-up to fourth place. Runa Basket at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost. Ryazan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Runa Basket will play again at home against Ryazan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
