Everything went according to plan in Jinan where eighth ranked Golden Stars (25-19) beat 14th ranked Brave Dragons (16-28) 137-128. Golden Stars dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Brave Dragons' 58 and made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Golden Stars players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Brave Dragons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American point guard Ty Lawson (180-87, college: N.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with 54 points (!!!) and 8 assists. Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90) contributed with 41 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winners. Golden Stars' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 assists and the other American import Shabazz Muhammad (198-92, college: UCLA) added 25 points and 11 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) in the effort for Brave Dragons. Five Brave Dragons players scored in double figures. Golden Stars maintains eighth place with 25-19 record. Brave Dragons at the other side keep the fourteenth position with 28 games lost. Golden Stars' next round opponent will be higher ranked Beijing Ducks (#6) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brave Dragons will play against Fly Dragons (#20) in Beijing and hope to win that game.
