There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Nantes (11-9) defeated at home 7th ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (12-9) 88-78 on Friday. The best player for the winners was American-Portuguese Jeremiah Wilson (205-88, college: Tarleton St.) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Ivorian swingman Vafessa Fofana (198-92) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Five Nantes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Spanish guard Javier Forcada (193-88) who recorded 22 points and 4 assists and American forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) added 20 points respectively. Nantes moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Gries/Oberhoffen keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Nantes will face league's second-placed Chorale de Roanne on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
