Seventh-ranked Bank of Taiwan (6-24) gave a tough game to second ranked Fubon Braves (18-12) on Sunday. Fubon Braves managed to secure only three-point victory 95-92. However their fans expected much easier game. Fubon Braves shot 21 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Bank of Taiwan only scored five points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds. American forward Tony Mitchell (203-92, college: N.Texas) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. American-Dominican forward Angel Nunez (203-91, college: S.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and international guard Yu-Jui Chen (185-95) added 20 points respectivelyfor Fubon Braves. Four Fubon Braves and five Bank of Taiwan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. They have a solid four-game winning streak. Fubon Braves maintains second position with 18-12 record behind leader Taiwan Beer. Bank of Taiwan lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Fubon Braves will meet Pauian (#4) in the next round. Bank of Taiwan will play against KKL and hope to secure a win.
