Regular Season Round 25: PBB - Estudiantes L. 106-100

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Estudiantes L. (13-8) lost to ninth ranked PBB (10-11) in Porrino 100-106 on Saturday. PBB dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Estudiantes L.'s 36. Estudiantes L. was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for point guard Lucas Vaquero (185-89) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Javier Dominguez (199-94) contributed with 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese forward Mor Niang (201-99) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Gabriel Gomez (195-95) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Estudiantes L.Four PBB and five Estudiantes L. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PBB moved-up to eighth place in Group A-B, which they share with Carbajosa. Loser Estudiantes L. dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. PBB will face higher ranked Gijon Basket (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
