Regular Season Round 48: Kagawa FA - Nishinomiya S. 82-81

The most exciting game of round 48 in the B2 League took place in Takamatsu. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd ranked Nishinomiya S. (26-22) to sixth ranked Kagawa FA (16-31) 82-81 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Nishinomiya S.. Kagawa FA made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Nishinomiya S. 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) chipped in 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Naoki Tani (193-88) who recorded 32 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Noriaki Dohara (178-89) added 27 points and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!) respectively. Nishinomiya S.'s coach Miodrag Rajkovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kagawa FA moved-up to fifth place. Nishinomiya S. at the other side keeps the third position with 22 games lost. Kagawa FA are again looking forward to face higher ranked Nishinomiya S. (#3) in Hyogo in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nishinomiya S. will have a break next round.
