There was no surprise in Hyogo where 3rd ranked Nishinomiya S. (27-24) was defeated by first ranked Shinshu BW (41-10) 87-82 on Friday. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. Center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) scored 30 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach Michael Katsuhisa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: DePaul) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Shinshu BW maintains first position with 41-10 record. Loser Nishinomiya S. keeps the third place with 24 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
