Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Caen (6-17) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Lille Metropole (10-13) 77-71 on Friday. It was a great evening for Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (193-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Nigerian-American power forward Cory Remekun (206-91, college: St.Louis, agency: Inception Sports) helped adding 16 points and 4 assists. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Naturalized Swiss center David Ramseyer (202-87) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (201-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lille Metropole moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Caen dropped to the seventeenth position with 17 games lost. Lille Metropole will face league's leader Chorale de Roanne at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caen will play against Aix-Maurienne (#16) in Aix-les-Bains and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
