The game had a very big importance for second-ranked CSKA Junior as it allowed them to take a leadership position. CSKA Junior defeated 4th placed Unics-2 in Moscow 83-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Unics-2. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Junior. Unics-2 managed to win fourth quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CSKA Junior forced 19 Unics-2 turnovers. Forward Filipp Gafurov (211-1) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Makhar Konovalov (188-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 13 points and 5 steals for the winners. Four CSKA Junior players scored in double figures. Center Semen Pinaev (208-99) answered with 14 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Georgiy Korotayev (196-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Unics-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA Junior (29-6) have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Unics-2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with 16 games lost. Unics-2 will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. CSKA Junior will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Parma-2 in Perm.
