Regular Season Round 26: Salzkotten - Hagen-Haspe 81-90

Date: March 23, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Salzkotten (5-19) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Hagen-Haspe (11-13) 90-81 on Saturday. Hagen-Haspe had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Salzkotten was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-87) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Jonah Bredt (198-98) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hagen-Haspe players scored in double figures. Point guard Dominik Wolf (185-94) produced 23 points and 7 rebounds and guard Matthias Finke (190-87) added 22 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Salzkotten's coach Stefan Schettke tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hagen-Haspe moved-up to seventh place in West, which they share with Ibbenbueren and Recklinghausen. Loser Salzkotten dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Hagen-Haspe will face Kamp-Lintfort (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Salzkotten will play against the league's leader Duesseldorf and will have a slim chance for a victory.
