Piestanske Cajky defeated Young Angels for the opening victory. Piestanske C. held Young Angels to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.1 percent accuracy of the winners. The former international center Ivana Jakubcova (198-94, college: USC) nailed a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and Canadian center Jessica Lubin (185-90, college: UQAM) accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Piestanske C. players scored in double figures. Coach Richard Kucsa's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Vanda Kozakova (188-98) came up with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Martina Machalova (172-0) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Young Angels in the defeat.
