Second Stage Round 1: Challans - Saint Vallier 65-88

An interesting game took place in Challans where Vendee Challans (6-3) was upset on its own court by Saint Vallier (3-6) 88-65 on Saturday. Saint Vallier forced 21 Vendee Challans turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Moroccan forward Karim Gourari (203-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and guard Jesse Delhomme (189-85) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Oumarou Sylla (185-92) responded with 11 points and 7 assists and center Jeremie Douillet (205-91) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saint Vallier will face Rueil (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vendee Challans will play against SO Maritime Boulogne in Boulogne-sur-Mer and hope to win that game.
