Second Stage Round 3: Bordeaux - Saint Vallier 67-86

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when JSA Bordeaux (4-6) was smashed at home by Saint Vallier (5-6) 86-67 on Saturday. Saint Vallier outrebounded JSA Bordeaux 44-26 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for Moroccan forward Karim Gourari (203-89) who led his team to a victory with 4 points, 9 rebounds and 15 assists. American power forward Derrick Barden-Jr (196-92, college: N.Colorado) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Saint Vallier's coach Arnaud Ricoux allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Mathieu Boyer (208-95) answered with 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Alexandre Vialaret (192-94) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for JSA Bordeaux. Saint Vallier will face La Charite (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. JSA Bordeaux will play against Saint-Quentin (#3) and hope to win that game.
