A very interesting game took place in Pesaro. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Sidigas AV (14-10) to fourteenth ranked VL Pesaro (7-17) 91-89 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The winners were led by Lithuanian center Egidijus Mockevicius (208-92, college: Evansville) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and American guard James Blackmon (193-95, college: Indiana) supported him with 24 points. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by American guard Demonte Harper (193-89, college: Morehead St.) did not help to save the game for Sidigas AV. His fellow American import forward Demetris Nichols (202-84, college: Syracuse) added 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. VL Pesaro moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Grissin Bon RE. Sidigas AV at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. VL Pesaro's next round opponent will be higher ranked Vanoli Cremona (#3) on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sidigas AV will play against Alma TR and hope to win that game.
