Regular Season Round 52: Fukuoka Rizing - Ryukyu GK 70-86

B League top team - Ryukyu GK (34-18) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (11-41) 86-70. They outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 41-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: ASU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) contributed with 17 points and 6 assists for the winners. Ryukyu GK's coach Norio Sassa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-95, college: WKU) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ryukyu GK have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 34-18 record. Fukuoka Rizing lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 41 games lost. Ryukyu GK will face Diamond Dolphins (#3) in Nagoya in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fukuoka Rizing will play on the road against Osaka Evessa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
