There was a small surprise when tenth ranked La Fecha (8-17) beat 8th ranked Santurtzi (10-14) in Arroyo Encomienda 62-56 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for guard Jorge Martinez (185-96) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Guard Millan Lopez (185-94) contributed with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. La Fecha's coach Roberto Gonzalez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Javier Mazo (190-98) replied with 15 points and point guard Pablo Albisu (179-95) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Santurtzi. La Fecha maintains tenth position in Group A-A with 8-17 record. Santurtzi lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. La Fecha will face higher ranked Pas Pielagos (#3) in Renedo de Pielagos in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
