ALBA survived an overtime thriller against Valencia to force the decisive third game in the championship series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valencia Basket won fourth quarter 24-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Valencia Basket used huge pressure winning it 24-21 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-12. ALBA Berlin dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia Basket's 24 and made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Valencia Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Luke Sikma (202-89, college: Portland) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Icelandic guard Martin Hermannsson (191-94, college: LIU Brooklyn) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. Belgian point guard Sam Van-Rossom (188-86) replied with 22 points and American-Georgian Will Thomas (203-86, agency: Two Points) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Valencia Basket. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
