No shocking result in a game in Tokyo where second ranked Tochigi Brex (46-10) defeated 4th placed Hitachi Sunrockers (27-30) 72-61 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian center Robert Sacre (213-89, college: Gonzaga) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) added 8 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They maintain second place with 46-10 record having four points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Hitachi Sunrockers keep the fourth position with 30 games lost. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play again at home against the league's second-placed Tochigi Brex (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
