Second Stage Round 9: Rivne - Niko-Basket 68-66

Sixth-ranked Niko-Basket (7-15) made lots of trouble for third ranked Rivne-OSHVSM (15-7) on Saturday. Rivne-OSHVSM managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 25-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Nazar Kisilchuk (195-97) who scored 15 points. Forward Yevgen Koroviyakov (199-88) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Rivne-OSHVSM's coach Mikhail Pereverziy used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Mark Bodnar (185-98) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Stanislav Serpilin (193-93) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Four Niko-Basket players scored in double figures. Rivne-OSHVSM maintains third place with 15-7 record having just 35 point less than leader Prometey. Niko-Basket at the other side keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
