Regular Season Round 28: Nantes - Caen 90-92
Date: April 23, 2019
A very close game took place in Nantes between Caen and Nantes. Seventeenth ranked Caen (8-20) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Nantes (13-14). Caen managed to escape with a 2-point win 92-90 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The winners were led by American point guard Johnathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) who scored that evening 23 points and 4 assists and American-Irish swingman Will Hanley (201-90, college: Bowdoin, agency: Duran International) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists by American-British center Laurence Ekperigin (200-88, college: LeMoyne) did not help to save the game for Nantes. American-Portuguese Jeremiah Wilson (205-88, college: Tarleton St.) added 13 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. Five Caen and four Nantes players scored in double figures. Caen moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Aix-Maurienne. Loser Nantes keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Caen will meet higher ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (#7) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Nantes will play against the league's second-placed Sluc Nancy having rather not much hope for a victory.
