Second Stage Round 7: Challans - Boulogne 60-85

There was a surprise result in Boulogne-sur-Mer where ninth ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (5-10) smashed 4th placed Vendee Challans (8-7) 85-60 on Tuesday. SO Maritime Boulogne had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized Cameroonian guard Ralph Temgoua (194-87, college: St.Lawrence) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. Center Adolphe-Michel Jean-Baptiste (206-79) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Jeremie Douillet (205-91) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) scored 9 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SO Maritime Boulogne maintains ninth place in Places 1-10 with 5-10 record. Loser Vendee Challans dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. SO Maritime Boulogne will face La Charite (#10) on the road in the next round. Vendee Challans will play against the league's leader Souffelweyersheim (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
