Ninth-ranked Acibadem (11-15) gave a tough game to third ranked Tofas (18-8) in Bursa. Tofas managed to secure only two-point victory 87-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely Acibadem outrebounded Tofas 39-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by Cameroonian forward Kenny Kadji (211-88, college: Miami, FL) who scored that evening 24 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) supported him with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by American power forward DJ White (206-86, college: Indiana) did not help to save the game for Acibadem. His fellow American import power forward Marcus Slaughter (204-85, college: San Diego St.) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for lost side. Five Acibadem players scored in double figures. Tofas maintains third position with 18-8 record having three points less than leader Fenerbahce. Acibadem lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Darussafaka and Pinar Karsiyaka. Tofas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Acibadem will play at home against Pinar Karsiyaka (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
