There was no surprise in Condell Park where 9th ranked Bankstown Bruins (3-6) were crushed by third ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (7-2) 89-67 on Saturday. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles forced 20 Bankstown Bruins turnovers and outrebounded them 43-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. Guard Steven White (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) fired 21 points, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Point guard Daniel Pitcher (185, college: UNB) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players scored in double figures. Nicko Timonera produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and Stefan Erak added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles maintains third position in League with 7-2 record having just nine point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Bankstown Bruins keep the ninth place with six games lost. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will face Norths Soul Sports Bears (#6) in Crows Nest in the next round. Bankstown Bruins will play on the road against the league's leader Crusaders in Terrigal and hope to win that game.
