Second Stage Round 14: Rivne - Prometey 72-87

The game between Top Four teams took place in Rivne. 3rd ranked host Rivne-OSHVSM (16-10) lost to first ranked Prometey (24-2) 87-72. It looked good early as Rivne-OSHVSM took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Prometey had a 25-18 second period charge getting the lead and Rivne-OSHVSM was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-87. Prometey dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rivne-OSHVSM's 30 and made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Rivne-OSHVSM was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Supreme Hannah (181-94, college: Daemen) notched 23 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and Maks-Adam Konate (202-91) supported him with 23 points. Four Prometey players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) by forward Yevgen Koroviyakov (199-88) did not help to save the game for Rivne-OSHVSM. Swingman Nazar Kisilchuk (195-97) added 14 points for the hosts. Rivne-OSHVSM's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Prometey have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Prometey maintains first position with 24-2 record. Rivne-OSHVSM at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Prometey will play against league's second-placed Ternopil-TNEU at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rivne-OSHVSM will play against KDPU in Kryvyi Rih and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
