Hapoel Jerusalem stormed past Beer Sheva in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Jerusalem. Beer Sheva was better in third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Jerusalem players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Beer Sheva was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Dominican-American James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) nailed 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and American center Josh Owens (206-88, college: Stanford) accounted for 7 points and 10 rebounds. American Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Tanner Leissner (201-95, college: UNH) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Beer Sheva in the defeat. Four Beer Sheva players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
