Regular Season Round 13: Melbourne T. - Knox R. 98-85

Date: May 26, 2019
Not a big story in a game in Melbourne where 14th ranked Knox Raiders (4-6) were defeated by sixth ranked Tigers (7-4) 98-85 on Sunday. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Point guard Michael Luxford (181-95) fired 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Naturalized Greek forward Nic Pozoglou (198-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. American guard Mike Rose (193-87, college: E.Kentucky) produced 27 points (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import forward Cadarian Raines (206-90, college: Virginia Tech) added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers moved-up to third place in League. Loser Knox Raiders keep the fourteenth position with six games lost. Tigers will face Bandits (#10) in Albury in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Knox Raiders will play at home against Dandenong Rangers (#9) and hope to win that game.
