Finals Game 5: ASVEL - Monaco 66-55

Date: June 25, 2019
ASVEL clinched ProA title. They overcame a slow start to beat Monaco in the decisive fifth game of the championship series. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 39-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket dominated on the defensive end, holding Monaco to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Monaco 36-23 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Monaco helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international Charles Kahudi (199-86) who scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-89, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 11 points. American-Bulgarian guard Dee Bost (188-89, college: Mississippi St.) produced 13 points and American point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
