The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Niagara RL as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Niagara RL defeated 5th ranked Guelph N. at home 96-87. They outrebounded Guelph N. 45-29 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Niagara RL looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Dorian Pinson (196, college: Lincoln Memorial) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Alex Johnson (178, college: NC State) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian guard Kimbal Mackenzie (185-96, college: Bucknell, agency: Two Points) who recorded 20 points and 6 assists and guard Connor Wood (193-93, college: Carleton) added 16 points respectively. Five Niagara RL and four Guelph N. players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Edmonton S. Guelph N. at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost. Guelph N. will play next round against strong Hamilton HB trying to get back on the winning streak. Niagara RL will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Guelph N. on the road.
