Regular Season Round 16: Corinthians - Rio Claro 80-56
Date: September 8, 2019
There was no surprise in Sao Paulo where 9th ranked Rio Claro (4-6) was crushed by fifth ranked Corinthians (7-3) 80-56 on Sunday. Corinthians dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Rio Claro's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Humberto Silva (195-95) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and the former international point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) who added 9 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American Cameron Tatum (200-88, college: Tennessee) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Marcio Dornelles (196-75) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Corinthians moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bauru. Loser Rio Claro keeps the ninth position with six games lost.
