Regular Season Round 9: Ciudad Nueva - Libertad 53-75

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Asuncion: Libertad (#2) and Ciudad Nueva (#6). Ciudad Nueva was crushed at home by 22 points 53-75 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. International forward Gabriel Peralta (201-95) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international forward Diego Lesme (203-95) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Venezuelan Darwin-Jesus Rivera with 11 points and 8 rebounds and Dario Olmedo scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Libertad (7-2) used an opportunity after Olimpia lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Ciudad Nueva lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Libertad will play against Campo Alto (#5) in the next round. Ciudad Nueva's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Asuncion to the arena Olimpia.
