Regular Season Round 1: Leverkusen 2 - ETB Wohnbau 94-70

An interesting game for Leverkusen 2 (1-0) which hosted in Leverkusen ETB Wohnbau (0-1). Leverkusen 2 had an easy win 94-70. Leverkusen 2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for Montenegrin center Dzemal Selimovic (205-99) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Thomas Fankhauser (201-1) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) answered with 11 points and 6 assists and power forward Noah Westerhaus (202-98, agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for ETB Wohnbau. Four ETB Wohnbau players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leverkusen 2 will face Dorsten at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ETB Wohnbau will play against Herford (#2) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
