Very important is a road loss of second ranked Leones SD (4-2) against fourth ranked Caneros Del Este (2-4) on Friday night. Visiting Leones SD was crushed by Caneros Del Este in La Romana 110-76. Caneros Del Este forced 20 Leones SD turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward Branden Dawson (198-93, college: Michigan St.) scored 22 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American guard Herbert Graham (196-93, college: Armstr.Atlantic) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Caneros Del Este maintains fourth position with 2-4 record, which they share with Metros STGO. Leones SD at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Caneros Del Este will play against Metros STGO (#4) in Santiago in the next round.
