Regular Season Round 9: Soles SD - Caneros Del Este 98-97

Important game to mention about took place in Santo Domingo. Third ranked Soles SD (5-4) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th placed Caneros Del Este (4-5) 98-97 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Caneros Del Este. Soles SD players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) stepped up and scored 25 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American forward Jereme Richmond (203-92, college: Illinois) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. Four Soles SD players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Jaison Colome with 24 points and 4 steals and guard Jose Soliman (185-91) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Soles SD moved-up to second place, which they share with Leones SD. Caneros Del Este at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Metros STGO. Soles SD will play against bottom-ranked Indios SFM (#6) in San Francisco in the next round. Caneros Del Este will play at home against the league's leader Reales LV and hopes to get back on the winning track.
