Regular Season Round 9: Metros STGO - Reales LV 96-92

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Reales LV (7-2) in Santiago on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Metros STGO (4-5) 96-92. Metros STGO made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Reales LV helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Adris De-Leon (180-84, college: EWU) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 8 assists and 5 steals (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Center Eloy Vargas (211-88, college: Kentucky, agency: Duran International) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Qiydar Davis (198-93, college: Indiana St., agency: SDJ Sports) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Luis Jacobo (196-91, college: PFW) added 14 points in the effort for Reales LV. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Metros STGO moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Caneros Del Este. Defending champion Reales LV still keeps top position with two games lost. Metros STGO is looking forward to face higher ranked Leones SD (#3) in Santo Domingo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Reales LV will play on the road against Caneros Del Este in La Romana and is hoping to win this game.
