The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Artland Dragons (0-1) in Quakenbrueck on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Walter Tigers (1-0) 74-59. American forward Marvin Smith (198-95, college: UNCG) fired 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Canadian forward Sven Stammberger (198-94, college: Dalhousie) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: PFW) produced 15 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian power forward Danielius Lavrinovicius (205-99) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Walter Tigers is looking forward to face Schalke (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Artland Dragons will play against Nuernberg (#6) and are hoping to win this game.
